Finding Strength When Overwhelmed
Life often feels like too much to handle. The demands of work, relationships, and personal struggles can leave us feeling completely overwhelmed. However, Islam teaches us that no hardship is beyond what we can bear.
Surah Al-Baqarah (2:286):
“Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.”
Reflection:
This verse reassures us that Allah knows our limits and never burdens us beyond our capacity. When you feel overwhelmed, take comfort in knowing that your struggles are not without purpose, and you are stronger than you think.
Practical Tip:
Recite this verse in your prayers and remind yourself of it in moments of hardship. Pair it with a short dua: “O Allah, grant me strength and patience to face what lies ahead.”
