Resisting Temptation with Allah’s Help

Temptation is a challenge for every believer. However, the Quran gives us tools to resist it by remembering Allah and seeking refuge from Shaytan.

Full Verses:

Surah Al-A’raf (7:201):

“Indeed, those who fear Allah – when an impulse touches them from Satan, they remember [Him] and at once they have insight.”

Surah An-Naas (114):

“Say, ‘I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the Sovereign of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the retreating whisperer – who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind – from among jinn and mankind.’”

Reflection:

Temptation can only be overcome by strengthening our connection to Allah. These verses highlight the importance of remembering Allah and seeking refuge from Shaytan’s whispers.

Practical Tip:

When you feel tempted, recite Surah An-Naas and say: “A’udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim” (I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan). Reflect on the fleeting nature of temptation and turn to Allah for strength.
